The many benefits of chlorophyll water

We’re always searching for new ways to feel and look healthy; whether that be a new make-up routine or diet. Today, we wanted to explore something a little different, and yet something you may have heard of before: Chlorophyll water.
What Is Chlorophyll?
Chlorophyll is a general term used to encapsulate a series of green pigments that are crucial for photosynthesis. This is because these pigments are what allows the light to be absorbed during that photosynthetic process.
Fun Fact! The light that is absorbed by chlorophylls is red and blue, with green being absorbed the least. This is a common occurrence with most coloured objects, in that they ignore the coloured light that matches their own.
These pigments are found within ‘the mesosomes of cyanobacteria’ as well as within the ‘chloroplasts of algae and plants’.
So What Are The Benefits Of Chlorophyll Water?
Chlorophyll water is exactly what it says on the tin; it is water that has been infused with these green pigments we know as chlorophyll.
An important note about chlorophyll supplements, however, is that they are often called chlorophyllin. This is due to an important change within the chemical make-up, so it’s worth knowing!
Most of the supplements have replaced magnesium with copper. Not only does this lead to the changed name, but it also changes the way the chlorophyll content works within your body. By making this change, it ensures that the full effects of the chlorophyll can be absorbed into the body, as opposed to the usual lifespan of chlorophyll not being able to survive the digestion process.
So, why do we even want to do that in the first place? Well, it turns out that what keeps plants healthy could also aid us in the same way!
Chlorophyll contains a host of vitamins, including vitamins A, C, K, and E, as well as a selection of antioxidants that are sure to keep you in tip-top shape.
In addition to this, you can expect to see a myriad of other possible improvements, including stimulating your immune system, feeling more energized and ready for the day, and eliminating bad odours.
One thing that chlorophyll water (or chlorophyllin) is credited for is a noticeable reduction in acne. Tests were taken with moderate success rates, showing a reduction in the appearance of acne over the course of three weeks.
So Should You Try Chlorophyll Water?
As with most things, be sensible, and judge the benefits for yourself. Perhaps this miracle plant product is your ticket to a healthier and more productive lifestyle, or perhaps it isn’t.
Most tests conducted with chlorophyll/chlorophyllin show the same results as the acne testing we mentioned, with moderate success rates, so it can be a hit or miss.
What isn’t hit or miss, however, is the amazing vitamins and antioxidants you can pump into your system, and that can always count for something.
