Taking The Waters: Places To Visit

With holidays on the horizon, we believe it is high time for all of us to take a well-deserved break from the boring life of lockdown.
Today we are going to highlight some great places for you to relax or get active in the water.
The Caribbean
Home to around 30 territories spanning 700 islands, The Caribbean has many resorts and retreats that allow you to experience beautiful days and clear waters.
Its tropical geography can lead to amazing weather in the right months, providing you avoid hurricane and storm seasons!
The Caribbean is renowned for being a great place to bodyboard and surf due to its tropical climate.
This can also be a great place to take to the seas around the island, hiring boats for tours of the stunning oceans.
Scuba diving is another great choice; with amazing wildlife and reefs, there is much to see beneath the waves of this beautiful region.
Famara, Lanzarote, Canary Islands
Another stunning country on our list, Lanzarote is the fourth largest island in the Canaries and boasts wonderful retreats across its great vistas.
Whilst Lanzarote is just another great place to catch the sun, Famara is specifically mentioned for its surfing.
Around July, the waves are much calmer but still amazing for the water sport, quoted as being a fantastic place for beginners to soak up the sun and learn the ways of surfing.
Brandenburg, Germany
If sun, sea, and surfing aren’t your thing, perhaps you might like this next place on our list.
Brandenburg is the fifth-largest state of the country, lying within the northwest. It boasts around 80 canoe trails and 20 kayak trails giving you plenty of ways to relax as you quietly explore a wonderful part of Germany.
If canoeing and kayaking still aren’t your thing, Brandenburg has you covered, offering many sailing tours across the same routes, still allowing you to experience the sights without the labour!
Miami, Florida, USA
If you prefer the city and party life, the coastal metropolis of Miami is the place to be! On top of its renowned nightlife, this place is home to the wildly popular Miami Beach, leaving no shortage of interesting folk and activities to do.
Whilst also being home to the aforementioned surfing and bodyboarding, Miami is highly regarded for its jet skiing.
Also known as water scooters, or more formally as “personal watercrafts”, jet skis can have you riding the summer waves of the Atlantic like never before.
Friesland, Netherlands
If you’re looking for more of a catch-all from this list, then Friesland in the Netherlands is one of your best bets.
Friesland boasts a ridiculous amount of canals and waterways, while also being surrounded by water on its western and northern sides.
This location can offer numerous activities based on locations within the province such as surfing, bodyboarding, and windsurfing. It also has access to great places to stay which have their own water sport facilities.
No doubt, you could also hire a lovely boat to test out on the waters as well!
Of course, the wonderful waters of your dream holiday destinations are lovely to think about, but sometimes we also have to turn our attention to the water in our home!
