Fun ways to get more water in your life

For some of us, it can be a struggle to drink the recommended amount of water every day. Luckily, there are some neat tricks we can use to make this easier for ourselves.
Today, we are going to take a look at three ways you can increase the amount of water in your daily life.
1. Infused Water
We have touched on this subject before, in one of our previous posts, where we provided some great recipes for the coming months, but let’s expand on it now.
Infusing is the process of leaving fruit or vegetables to sit within water for an extended time.
Not only can this lead to you creating new flavour combinations to suit your tastes, but it is great for increasing your vitamin C intake.
As the fruity goodness rests within the water, vitamin C contained therein is distributed throughout the drink.
This makes it even more beneficial for you! If you would like to explore the tasty world of infused water, you can look here!
The best fruits that you can use for infused water are those with high water content themselves, such as strawberries, watermelon, pineapple, cucumber, and more. This leads nicely into our next tip.
2. Eating High Water Content Foods
Of course, drinking water is more beneficial for reaching our daily intake but we can always use these to tip the scales!
Not only will introducing more of these foods slightly increase your water intake, but they’ll come packed full of vitamins and other great additions that your body will love.
Strawberries have an excellent vitamin C content alongside potassium and manganese. For this reason, they are said to be great for ‘heart health and blood sugar control’.
Cucumber provides us with a very healthy dose of vitamin K alongside vitamins C and B. It also has traces of minerals such as potassium and magnesium.
Many other foods grant us great benefits such as our friends above, and we don’t just have to eat them for the sake of it.
Explore and find out the many recipes you can use them in, or perhaps make an extravagant, water-rich salad.
3. Customised Bottles
Having a water bottle beside us at all times, while we are at work or home, can subconsciously help us to drink that little bit extra every day.
We may, however, need a little help from time to time, especially if you are someone who doesn’t enjoy drinking water too much.
Whilst you can always fill your water bottles with infused or flavoured water, we have devised some little mental tricks to help keep us on track.
Many sites suggest adding times to water bottles. This sets steady goals throughout the day and helps to make our water intake more manageable.
If you want to aim to drink multiple bottles per day, rather than progress through times, you can use tokens.
This might include rubber bands. The idea is to wrap rubber bands around the bottle (other tokens are available), and each time you finish a bottle of water, remove one band.
Both of these methods help us to know how much water we are drinking in a day, and inspire us to drink more!
