Why Washing Up in Filtered Water is Best

Let’s face it, washing up is never interesting. Like any household chore, most of us try to put it off. However, filtered water can make washing up dirty dishes a bit more of a pleasure. It might seem insignificant, but filtered water has a very powerful effect on both your hands and dinnerware.
When you install a water filter, detrimental chemicals like chlorine are removed as soon as they enter a home’s plumbing system, and are no longer released into the air. If you handwash your clothes, you can actually prevent chemicals from saturating your clothing. For those who use dishwashers, removing chlorine from the water prevents vapours from being released into the air, and prevents irritating soap scum on dishes.
The Beast of Chlorine
Although seen by water companies as essential, the use of chlorine has a very damaging effect on both our bodies and belongings. Washing your dishes in water loaded with chlorine over a prolonged use of time can leave them looking faded and basically tired.
Using a filter, whether on your taps or in your dishwasher, will leave your dishes sparkling clean, extending their lifespan, and keeping them beautiful for much longer.
Effective Ways of Filtering Your Water
There are myriad ways you can filter your water, making it more effective and beneficial for washing clothes and dishes. As Dr Stacey Richards says in SMRT Health:
“Granular Carbon/ Carbon Block Filters use a chemical or physical bonding process that pulls contaminants to the surface of the filter. Granular systems are best for removing organic chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides and industrial chemicals. A caveat with granular filters: loose material can form channels that trap water which then escapes proper filtering. Carbon block filters compress the carbon medium, eliminating channeling and providing more precision for filtering a wider range of contaminants.”
The more robust a filter system you can get, the more cleaner and fresher those clothes and dishes will be.
