Drinking Water Filters
While the drinking water supplied to us in the UK is generally of a very good quality, some of the dissolved "salts" and chemicals like sodium hypochlorite (chlorine) added by the water companies, can give our water an unpleasant taste and odour.
Total Soft Water offer a wide range of drinking water filters from simple cartridge type carbon filters (for improved taste) through to full "Reverse Osmosis" water purification systems, which remove all contaminants from the water, leaving the finest pure water for drinking and tea/coffee making.
Whatever your needs, Total Soft Water will be able to advise you. For instance, did you know that for making great espresso it is important to keep a small amount of hardness in the water to aid in the formation of a decent "crema"? A dealkalistion filter (such as the Kinetico 9000) will allow you to do just that, while still keeping your coffee machine clean and free from scale. We don't think you will get that kind of information from a plumber, Builders Merchant or DIY Superstore.
You can even come and taste the water in your local Total Soft Water store to guarantee that you like the taste of your particular filter of choice.
WHICH FILTER DO I NEED?
Having purified water on tap is so much easier than carrying heavy bottles of water from the shop. In addition there are no plastic bottles to recycle and the purified water is totally fresh.
Granular activated carbon (GAC)
For the removal of poor taste, odour, chlorine and organics, such as pesticides and fertilisers. The carbon acts like the catalytic converter in your car, removing the chlorine that generally leads to poor tasting water.
Produces fresh bottled tasting water at only around 3p per litre.
GAC + Scale removal (TSGAC)
As above but with scale removal ideal for hot and cold dispensers, refrigerators Kettles and coffee machines.
Carbon Block multi media (CBR)
Removes poor taste, odour, Cryptosporidium, micro-organisms, pesticides and fertilisers, heavy metals and fine particles. Filters to 0.5 microns! Produces a truly amazing, fresh tasting high quality drinking water.
Scale Removal (or "Brita" type) Filter
No more time wasting due to slow jug filtering and no need for frequent cartridge changes. Produces scale free drinking water instantly at the turn of a tap with no more jugs cluttering your work space or fridge!
Reverse Osmosis
The best tasting water possible - just pure H2O being rich in oxygen this water improves the taste of tea and coffee and all cooked vegetables. The two cups of tea below were made with mains water (left) and RO filtered water (right), which would you rather drink?
The water is forced under mains pressure through a very fine membrane material that allows the water to pass through but basically holds back all of the dissolved minerals and suspended particles to produce water that is purer than spring water.
